About this event

In only 60 minutes, you will have everything you need to get started building your first dApp!

This webinar introduces you to Web3 development, giving you the opportunity to create your first token sale.

We will start the webinar with a keynote from RDX Works CPO, Matthew Hine, laying out our vision for the future of Decentralized Finance. Members of the RDX Works builders team will guide you through the basics of Scrypto, Radix's asset-oriented approach to building smart contracts.

Scrypto is a Rust based programming language built for Decentralized Finance (DeFi). It is the open source smart contract language of the Radix public network. Scrypto rethinks how smart contracts are built, finally enabling developers to create secure, reliable and powerful DeFi applications. Developers can save time and money using Scrypto, by utilising its vast library of useful programming templates, built by the community. Here’s how:

Install Scrypto on your computer:

Developers who get introduced to Scrypto often want to get their hands dirty right away.

Here’s what you need to install Scrypto on your computer:

  1. Download and Install a compatible IDE such as Visual Studio Code and Rust Analyzer.
  2. Download and Install the Rust Toolchain.
  3. Download and Install the Scrypto Toolchain.
  4. Create a new Scrypto package through “scrypto new-package token-sale”.
  5. Open this package in your favorite IDE or Text Editor and code along.
